Week Four Of Kaplan Tutoring Program
We are on week 4 of the Kaplan Tutoring Program http://www.kaplantutoring.com/.
I have to say that once the kids realized that you could accumulate points to redeem in the reward zone, it boosted up them wanting to go on. They love to spin the wheel (once per day) to get entered into a drawing to win different prizes!
One thing cool about the program is the parents can log on and see the child's progress report and see what skills they have mastered and what they are in the process of mastering.
My children dread the assessments. It seems like they are always doing them and that they are quite too long. My recommendation would be to break them up into shorter segments so that they do not tire out. This program does however save where your child left off so that he/she can easily resume where they left off.
In a nutshell, I do think that it is a great program to see where your child stands academically and to be able to accommodate and instill what they are or should be learning in school.
My son at the beginning of the program was only mastered40% in 4th grade math. Now on week four and he goes on a little every other day has reached 70% mastery. Pretty good since he is just in 4th grade currently. Imagine the leaps and bounds he could make if he went on every day!
Stay tuned for Week 5!
